Bai Win's Carvings Exhibition

Carving is an ancient art form in China. It is used extensively on architecture, furniture and works of art, like jade-ware, cloisonné and chinaware.
Wood carving in China constitutes three major categories: architecture carving, furniture carving and artworks carving. Wood carving as handiworks for display In the Song Dynasty, the practice of fondling artworks became popular amongst men of letters and scholars. This custom reached its climax in the Ming and Qing dynasties and wood carving was also used to decorate furniture and jade-ware, cloisonné and chinaware.
